A sprinkler that wets a walkway wastes water and can create a slippery surface. Adjusting the arc or nozzle improves coverage when the head and riser are still in good condition.
Run the zone briefly
Observe the spray pattern and identify whether the problem is the arc, nozzle, tilted head, or water pressure.
Adjust the correct part
Use the manufacturer’s adjustment screw or collar. Do not twist a fixed nozzle aggressively or force a buried head.
Check the boundary
Run the zone again and look for dry lawn areas near the opposite edge. A small change is better than simply increasing run time.
Maintain the head
Clear grass and soil around the cap, replace damaged nozzles, and keep the head level with the soil surface.
